Looking forward to seeing you soon!

This is everything You Need to Know Before Camp

What to pack, every day

  • Named water bottle

  • Nut-free snacks

  • Nut-free packed lunch, full day only

  • Change of clothes

  • Grippy socks, if your child would rather not be barefoot

  • Any medication, labelled, handed to a coach at drop-off

Please label everything. It is the single biggest thing that stops items going missing.

Leave at home: phones, tablets, smart watches, jewellery, anything valuable.

Where to find us

Our entrance is not the school's main entrance, which maps often get wrong. We are on Temple Mills Lane, at the crossroads with Celebration Avenue.

There is a paid public car park opposite, run through the JustPark app. It is not managed by the school or by Gymlab, so we cannot guarantee availability or help with any issues. Parking is actively enforced.

Times

Morning: 9:00 to 12:30. Drop-off 9:00 to 9:10, pick-up 12:30.
Afternoon: 13:00 to 16:00. Drop-off 13:00, pick-up 15:50 to 16:00.
Full day: 9:00 to 16:00. Drop-off 9:00 to 9:10, pick-up 15:50 to 16:00.

Early drop-off 8:00 to 9:00 and late pick-up 16:00 to 18:00 are extras and must be booked in advance. Your booking confirmation shows what your child is signed up for.

Arriving and collecting

If your child starts at 9am, please wait outside until we open at 8:55. A coach will greet you at the door, take your child's name and welcome them in. It keeps the entrance calm rather than crowded.

For the safety of all the children, and in line with school policy, parents cannot come into the sports hall. We know this can feel hard on a first day. Our coaches will help your child settle.

Collection is at the same door. A coach calls children one by one, only once their adult is visible. If someone else is collecting, please email us in advance and make sure they know the safe word you gave at registration. We will only release a child to an adult who can give that word.

Children are supervised at all times in defined zones with clear sightlines across the space. They are never left unattended.

Food and drink

Every child needs a named water bottle every day.

Full-day children have two snack breaks and a lunch break, so they need a packed lunch and two snacks. Half-day children have one snack break and do not stay for lunch.

It is a long, active day. Fruit, whole grains and protein keep energy up. Sugary food and drink tend to cause a crash later on.

What to wear

Comfortable clothing for active play: shorts or leggings and a fitted t-shirt. Skirts and dresses are not suitable.

Indoor activities are done barefoot to prevent slipping. Grippy socks are fine, ordinary socks are not.

Please pack a change of clothes for every child, every day, including the older ones. Paint, spills and mess are part of a good day.

Allergies and medication

Gymlab is strictly nut-free. Please make sure anything you send in contains no nuts. This protects children with severe allergies.

Tell us about allergies or dietary needs when you book, label your child's belongings clearly, and let a coach know at drop-off.

Any antihistamine or EpiPen should be handed to a coach at drop-off in a clearly labelled bag, with written instructions.

Phones and valuables

Children do not use phones during camp. If your child brings one it stays in their bag, switched off. Camp is about moving, playing and making friends.

Please leave tablets, smart watches, jewellery and anything valuable at home. We cannot take responsibility for personal items lost or damaged.

If you need to get a message to your child during the day, contact us and we will pass it on.

Requests to be grouped with friends

Please email us at least seven days before camp starts. Groups are finalised in advance around age and balance, so we cannot make changes on the morning. We also try to help children widen their circle, and mixing groups often leads to new friendships.

If your child cannot come

If your child is unwell or will not be in on a booked day, please email us as early as you can so we are not expecting them on the register.

If you need to cancel, email us as soon as you know. Refunds are counted from the Monday your camp week starts, not from the individual day booked:

  • 14 days or more before the camp week starts — full refund

  • 7 to 13 days before — 50% refund

  • Less than 7 days before — no refund

We plan groups, staffing and equipment around the children booked in, and a place held is a place another family could not take.

In summer

On hot days we may play water games outside. Please also send a small towel, and Crocs or flip-flops. There is no need for swimwear, the games are played in normal clothes.

We provide SPF 50+ sun cream for all children: Boots Soltan Kids Sensitive and Sun Allergy Protect Spray SPF50+. Please apply sun cream at home before drop-off and we will top up during the day. A sun hat is a good idea.

If your child has a sensitivity to this product, or you would rather we did not use it, tell us at drop-off and send your own labelled cream.

Policies and contact

Our safeguarding, behaviour and health and safety policies are at gymlab.fit/policies-and-procedures

Emergencies only: 020 4572 7606

For everything else please email us. During the day our coaches are on the floor with the children, and that is where we would rather they stayed.
